Fueling Education, One Supply at a Time
Fueling Education, One Supply at a Time
The idea for Supplies 4 Success originated when I realized the vast amount of new school supplies people purchase each year, while many gently used supplies from the previous year are either discarded or left unused. For example, a close friend of mine would throw out half-used notebooks every year, contributing to unnecessary waste. As a volunteer at Halton’s Children Aid Society, I witnessed firsthand how many children lack the resources to buy new school supplies, and some barely have any at all. This issue deeply troubled me, so I sought a solution. Discovering a lack of initiatives for repurposing school supplies, I felt compelled to take action. I recognized the environmental impact of wasting supplies and the negative effect on students’ educational success due to a lack of resources. Reusing and redistributing school supplies seemed like the ideal solution. With the potential to involve schools and libraries, I was confident that others would join the effort to donate and support students. Thus, Supplies 4 Success was born.

We place these Supplies 4 Success boxes in elementary schools and libraries, in order to collect lightly used school supplies which we redistribute.

Previous Campaign
For our crayon campaign we placed these smaller boxes in restaurants, libraries, schools and other areas our volunteers suggest. These boxes were meant to collect broken crayons pieces which we then remake in to pieces that can be used among children in need of school supplies.
